Although businesses of all sizes have suffered setbacks from the on-going recession, the outlooks of these organizations have taken very divergent paths. Middle market companies are showing a positive outlook with some signs of growth while small businesses continue to expect struggles in 2010. These differences in financial outlook and growth prospects can have a major effect on business banking needs and business attitudes towards the banking industry.
The Barlow Research Economic Pulse Report, recently quoted in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal's Independent Street, will help guide you through the results of our 1st quarter Economic Pulse survey to gain insight into the year ahead for small business and middle market companies. Which businesses are ready to lead us to the elusive recovery? Are companies ready to undertake the major development projects that have been lost during this recession?
Methodology
The Barlow Research Economic Pulse Survey is an invitation-only economic survey administered online or via fax, fielded for two weeks during the first month of each quarter. A stratified sample based on four US regions and nine sales volume categories is used. The results are weighted by regions and sales volume categories using 2010 business population counts.
