Customers want integrated payroll systems that will be easy to use, accurate, cost effective, Internet based and will work seamlessly with accounting programs and human resources.
Payroll has long been viewed as a pain point for businesses of all sizes. While many banks have offered proprietary or vendor-based payroll solutions to their clients for years, some banks have come to recognize the need to bring a simplified payroll solution down market to the small and micro business set. A few banks lead the charge as trendsetters by fully integrating a low cost, automated payroll solution with their small business online banking platform. But the competitive landscape is rapidly changing as more and more banks are adding payroll to their suite of small business products.
Because payroll is such an arduous undertaking for most companies, we set out to better understand the behaviors, preferences, perspectives and priorities of companies processing payroll across the U.S. We spoke to seven panelists , who were vendor-based payroll solution users, during an hour-long TeleFocus group.
