EVP & Chief Digital Officer, Platforms and Capabilities

U.S. Bank

Gareth Gaston is executive vice president and chief digital officer
for platforms and capabilities at U.S. Bank. He leads a team that
makes and connects digital platforms for the enterprise, which
enable critical functions, including sales and onboarding, open
banking, ID and authentication, document management, CRM,
communications, design systems and money movement
experiences. Gaston is also responsible for enterprise user
experience design and agile coach and scrum master capabilities.

Gaston joined U.S. Bank in 2014 and has 25 years of e-commerce
and digital experience. Prior to U.S. Bank, he worked primarily in
the travel and hospitality industry with worldwide brands including
Hilton and the Wyndham Hotel Group, where he was senior vice
president for global e-commerce.

A leader in industry joint ventures, Gaston was pivotal in launching
Zelle and is currently involved with the launch of Akoya. He was
on the board of ClearXchange prior to the sale to Early Warning
Services (EWS) where Gaston chaired and now serves on the
real-time payments advisory board. He is also on the board of the
industry joint venture Akoya, which exists to create a data access
network between FIs and data recipients.

Gaston holds a BA in Marketing from University of West of
Scotland, an Executive MBA from TRIUM and an honorary
doctorate from University of West of Scotland.
A native of Scotland and former officer in the British Army
Reserves, Gaston’s career has placed him in numerous cities
around the world, including San Francisco where he and his family
live today.
