Jason Tarr

Head of Direct Sales; Business Banking

Santander

On a “dare” as a high school sophomore, I took the stage at the local comedy club. Within a year, I was touring the country. As I learned how to manage money and run a business, I became fascinated by financial markets and technical analysis and started investing early. After earning a BA in Finance, I took my first day job as a stockbroker in the late 90’s. We peddled ‘hot stocks’ to unknown strangers. We didn’t learn their goals, needs, family dynamics, or do much risk assessment. We simply tried to sell them Kodak, or Dell, or Disney... it didn’t feel right to me.

Since that day I’ve dedicated my professional and personal life to helping organizations, businesses, and individuals be their best. I’ve led business lines across both Business Banking and Wealth: Investments, Sales, Field Support, and Strategy for financial institutions including Charter One, Citizens Bank, Capital One, KeyBank, and Santander. My trademark has been transformational strategies that challenge status quo and involve both human and digital channels to deliver a positive client experience and drive a balanced stream of income through new client acquisition and growing existing net new assets.

I’m also proud to continue to call myself an entrepreneur and small business owner. I believe education never ends. In addition to the Finance degree, I’ve earned CFP® and Chartered Financial Consultant designations and degrees in Financial Planning and Applied Behavioral Finance from The Ohio State University. I’m an RIA with FINRA Series 52, 24, 7, 63, and 65 licenses.
